This image was made at the wonderfully named Water Cum Jolly in the English Peak District. I had visited almost on a whim, attracted simply by the name. What I found absolutely delighted me!
There are times when you make a photograph that you immediately know its is going to fulfil your dreams for the image... This wasn't one of those times.
I struggled for over an hour to get exactly the right quality of light, the right amount of ripple and the right shutter speed. What I eventually achieved is an ode to impressionism mingled with photo realism. There's no photo trickery, just timing and light.
